Diana Vickers
Diana was diagnosed with laryngitis on Thursday and the Drs are concerned that she won’t be able to perform on Saturday night. So Diana is on strict instructions not to talk or sing over the next couple of days and has been prescribed some antibiotics, but she is keeping her fingers crossed her voice will be in one piece on Saturday night.
Diana cannot believe that she, along with the other finalists have a number 1 single in the charts, of all the acts Diana really feels like she is living in a dream world and cannot believe the response she’s been getting from fans.
Laura White
Laura did get upset last week over Simon’s comments about her styling and appearance, so this week Faye Sawyer, the shows stylist, has taken her on a special shopping trip to find the “perfect” outfit for this Saturday, and to hopefully prove to Simon that she does have her own style.
Laura this week received flowers from disco legend Jocelyn Brown. Jocelyn was so amazed by Laura’s rendition of her hit Somebody Else’s Guy last week, she called X Factor HQ raving about the young jazz diva.
Alexandra Burke
Alexandra has been on an absolute high all week following the announcement that the final 12 had a number 1 selling single.
Alexandra has been having intensive vocal training this week with Yvie Burnett and has had a break through at the coaching sessions learning to sing from her stomach on not from her throat which she has been trying to crack for the last four weeks. Yvie is convinced that the new technique she’s learnt will have dramatic effects on Alexandra’s performance. However, after Simon comparing her to Whitney in the past, Alexandra is having concerns that singing such a huge Mariah Carey hit will bring “karaoke” comparisons from Cowell.
Rachel Hylton
Rachel had a bad night last Saturday and being in the bottom two really knocked her confidence. On Sunday, following conversations with Dannii at routining, it was decided that she would take over some ownership of her performance/styling and choreography for this week’s show, so with Dannii’s support she’s picked the song, the outfit and worked with Brian on the dance routine for this weekend Mariah Carey special. With more at stake than most contestants, Rachel is determined to do all she can to do well in this competition as she has so much invested in it and is determined to change the fortune of her two children.
Daniel Evans
Surviving the bottom two last week has given Daniel renewed confidence and this week he’s determined to come back fighting and ignore whatever Louis and Simon says about him and just sing for the public who have been voting for and keeping him in the competition. With vocal coaches Yvie Burnett and John Modie saying that his performance this week could be his best by far, Daniel’s the most confident he’s ever been since getting through to the live shows.
Ruth Lorenzo
The Spanish senorita is back this week, although she’ll be singing in English, her performance will have a very Spanish feel – although Ruth insists she’s not doing this for Simon!
Ruth was on a high after last week’s show as it was the first time her family had been able to come to the studio to see her, with her sister even flying in all the way from San Francisco.
Ruth is a delight in the house and gets on well with all the acts – although she is always the last one to leave in a morning as she has to “glam herself up”. And it’s not just in the morning that Ruth spends time perfecting her looks, before going to bed each night, in matching underwear, Ruth sprays herself with perfume and applies lip gloss, “so I look good when I wake up in the morning”..!
JLS
The boys have a big big song this week which was originally taken on by one of the biggest boy bands in the world, so this week they are really feeling the pressure, but with Louis backing and support they are hoping Simon will be impressed enough to give them good comments again this week.
The boys are loving being in the competition and revelling in the female attention they are receiving, with lots of offers of topless shoots coming in on the back of the Heat coverage, they cannot believe their luck, and neither can the girls in the local area who are spending more and more time outside the house hoping to catch a glimpse of them!
Eoghan Quigg
As the last boy left in Simon’s category Eoghan and is becoming more competitive than ever as he doesn’t want to leave the show nor does he want Simon to lose his last act.
He was a bit down early in the week especially now he’s lost his room mates Scott and Austin, and with his Mum due to give birth to his little sister any day he’s felt it quite hard being so far away from home. However saying that Eoghan is still the life and soul, and joker of the house, forever playing practical jokes on them all while spending more and more time with his new best friend Diana.

I totally agree with quite a lot of ppl, this singing comp is deffo a fix, there is still to many good female singers left in the comp and not all of them can win, cant understand why Mr Cheesy (Daniel) is still in, feel sorry for the man but dont want to hear his life story its about singing, ppl are curious now each week to see which one of u directors have booted off another good singer.

also what is daniel still doing in the competition, he should have went along time ago.
the x-factor is getting worse & worse.

and if alexandra (by far the strongest in the competition) either doesnt get to the final or doesnt win, there is definatly something wrong and i for one would not be watching next year.

What are Racheal and Daniel still doing in. Daniel is ok but Rachel voice annoys me. They both have sob stories and I am sorry about that but it doesnt mean they have what it takes to win.
Laura should NOT have been booted off last night esp when the above 2 people are still in.
I feel Cheryl and maybe Simon are Judging in the right way but Louis just seems to want to get one over simon by sending both of his acts home and also getting one over Cheryl by sending her act home.
I think Laura and Alex are great but there is something about Diana that is different and for that reason I want her to win – plus i live in the same town! (just think of the final night 🙂 )
Thing is all of us who belive daniel and rachel should go need to vote for the others or they will prob be the two in the final due to default.

The x factor just proved its not about talent once again a realy good singer has been voted off.Well I now know who going to win the fix is as follows final eoghan rachell alex or ruth with the winner da da da of coarse simon\’s act eoghan. Or if eoghan is to be used as the patsy rachell. Any bet takers out there.
As for Laura, two things: when she sings softly and slowly, you can hear richness in her voice, but unfortunately, she simply appears to be belting out songs, with no control and no passion, unlike Ruth. Secondly, is she pregnant?
I think Diana may well win but how does everyone feel about her getting her free ticket to the next round. Others in previous weeks have been unwell and at the end of Xtra Factor we see the contestants at a firework party and there is Diana screaming and shouting – just 3 days before she was unable to sing

I think it is wrong for Diana to be given a free ticket into the next round. At the fireworks party Diana was clearly shouting, laughing, screaming, if she was well enough to go out for a start and well enough to be screamin then she was well enough to perform. I think its disgraceful. other people in the competition have been ill but they all performed.
Racheal was terrible last night, so out of tune so lack of emotion, its wrong of her to blame Dannii and the rest of the x factor team, the problem is not them is you Racheal. Racheal and Daniel shud have been in the bottom 2 last night.

This program now has shown itself to be a joke. If mariah said she was left speechless by laura, and simon at the end of the show praised mariah for the star that she is then does that not then follow that laura must have something to give, to leave the best performer on the planet speechless? Cowell and walsh have just let themselves and the show down and i for one will no longer be watching. As far as i am concerned, laura has already won. Alexandra should now go one to win the show. Rachel and Daniel have certainly outstayed theirwelcome and although both sing well, they are not in the same league as some of the others. Louis walsh is just a juvenile, judging from his comments. I dont think any of his comments add anything to the show at all.

OMG i cant believe Diana is still in the competition, that whole story about her being sick is a scam we all know Diana with her ugly voice would never in a million years be able to sing a Mariah song and its ironic that she gets "sick" in the Mariah week if you ask me! I wish everyone would give poor Daniel a break. For heaven sake the poor man lost his wife. I don\’t think he goes on and on about it, I have only heard him mention her once and that was when he ended up in the bottom 2 and had to give a reason for his song choice. Rachel on the other hand never shuts up about how hard she has had it and seems to think everyone else is to blame for her loosing her kids. The girl can\’t sing and has in my opinion got a bit of a temper. Not good when in the public eye. My fav to win is Diana although I do think it was unfair that she did not have to sing on Saturday night. I know it is not her fault she lost her voice or maybe it was since she was screaming at the top of her voice at the Halloween party, but I think in the fairness of everyone else she should have been disqualified. I also think Louis gets a hard time from the other judges and who can blame him for rebelling against them. Danni is the only sincere judge on the panel and is a lady unlike miss moody cheryl cole. I am so glad that Danni has all 3 acts still in the competition. Just goes to show what goes round comes round.

Austin was good apart from the crying. I dont like Dianas voice altho she is a nice girl, Alex is Brilliant and i think should win. I have always been Mariah`s number one fan and i have all of her cd`s but what has happened to her face she has had too much botox theres no expression in it and she used to be soooo pretty and natural

And also incase you did not realise the x-factor was open to us "old foggies" over 25 years. I don\’t think it was open to your age group though – under 5\’s.
I agree with message regarding "what has happened to Mariah Carey" she had no expression on her face and was so stiff I thought at one point her feet were superglued to the stage. I have to say I do not think she was very entertaining at all.

As Diana could not sing this week i think it would of made more sense for nobody to be voted off this week and then next week Diana having to do both weeks songs then two people get voted off next weekend. I was deeply shocked that Laura got voted off and the fact that both her and Laura were in the bottom two. It does look very suspiciously like a fix when you take in to consideration all the complaints.

just goes to show know one is safe. Votes really do make the big difference here and the main reason why daniel or the other less favourites are still there is because they have built up a fan base with people that vote for them without fail….simple as that. Laura was my favourite but iv never once voted for her, What does that say!!
I love the xfactor but its madness that Scott and Laura have gone, I think Daniel\’s a nice guy and Eoghan is very cute but there\’s better singers on the show!!!
I may have to stop watching it soon.

you are all going on about diana how good she is and fresh but i have seen it all before, those who are old enough remember sandie shaw[the girl with no shoes] well at least she could sing diana cannot. i think she should sing a maria carey song as well it is only right everyone gets the same chances and adheres to the same rules. not sure who should win but i am fed up of the sob stories and laura played one Saturday – she was singing for her grandad. who ever doesnt win will get the opportunity of a recording contract if they are good enough anyway.
Diana does not have a bad voice she is my favouite, The show didn\’t seem the same without her!! and you know that I think that rachel is just getting through because she started crying on the show and got sympathy at the beginning of the show and also was in the bottom too. It was sad to see Laura and Austin go out because they had really good voices and I also like Eoghan and JLS and also Ruth I like her song knock knock knock on heaven\’s door and purple rain well to be honest thier all good how about you guys?
X factor is great Tv but i want everyone to know it isnt what we see.i auditioned a few years ago and like many others was excited about it all.My turn came to go down to the room and do my stuff and instead of The judges we all watch and love, sat two show producers.I DIDNT GO ANY FURTHER. 😦 lol . this year my ex husband had his turn and phoned our daughter and excitedly told her he had got thru to the next stage.We were all excited for him wishing him luck but on his next audition the same again.2 PRODUCERS.They are building the show picking out all thoses tuneless wannabes we all love to watch and picking out all the finialist we are tuning in to watch now.Thats why we get to view them from the very beginning.We follow them and there stories.Just had to let u all know that.
Anyway i am still a big fan of the show and cant believe my two favorites have gone.Austin had the most amazing voice and i was sad to see him leave.As for Laura,she was robbed.Rachel is a terrible singer and the only time i enjoyed her was her 1st audition.But honestly guys she was more stars in ur eyes than XFactor.She sounded exactly like Amy winehouse.Has she delivered since then .i think not.She is a terrible singer who has the most awful tone.Sat was by far her worst.But back to laura,She was up against Ruth who i believe should have gone.She has been in the bottom 2 now more than once so that says enough .Laura played the piano and sang her song beautifully and i think Louis did it coz she was a threat to His group(who by the way i love).I say it should be up to the public coz the judges are simply point scoring against each other .

Oh please for all those hating on rachel wat about her raw talent. she freestyled at bootcamp and she was fabulous. so far theve dolled her up with pink lipstick which does not suit black people and changed her appearance to fit the shows target market and messed with her head. Danni is not a suitable mentor for rachel as she is ONLY pop…(no wonder rachel cant cope) rachel is more ballad mixed with a conciousness soul type sound. I feel sorry for her as not only would danni know nothing about this sound but rachel has to try and figure out how to deliver herself without the help of a suitable mentor. She has the most powerful voice out of all of them wish she had the confidence to match it and the ability to control her emotions. the inablity to do this encourages fans like no name to decide shes still there because she cried. Who hasnt in xfactor. Musically educate yourself no name and try not to call people ugly. God knows wat you look like. Rachel to win
X Factor seems to have lost its original purpose – to find someone deserving to win on a fair basis. Its disappointing for Diana that she had a throat problem – however – the system should be transparent and to use an old phrase "like Ceaser\’s wife". The Maria Carey songs were possibly the most chalenging and Diana was not includes in the challenge! It seems most unfair that she can slot in and out whilst Laura was sent home. Neither contestant should have gone last week and then two should go next week if Diana returns to perform. Even then it still would not be fare ! This system would not be allowed in any other sport or competition.
Diana comes over as a mediocre voice with a gimmick personality (little girl lost – no shoes and nervous) and this competition has lost its way. Good luck Diana but win on a \’level playing field\’ and they you can be proud
i dont know how much people have been reading but people are voting for daniel for the laugh, i do feel sorry for the guy but sorry he cant sing, along with rachel she was terrible saturday, iv said it time and time again im getting really sick of the sympathy crap. those voting for them are most making the viewers loose interest, without viewers this show wont happen. get real, those stupid enough to vote for rachel and daniel knocked out two of the stronger singers, bloody stupid, just making the show crap. we all know cheryls group where the best
