Click here to follow our Live Tweets... Don't forget the I'm A Celebrity Live Blog straight after X Factor.. Joe and Stuart face off in the Jungle Jail! SHOW STARTS: It's a real treat tonight as we have Alicia Keys and Rihanna to look forward to. Not to mention the cheesefest that it the X Factor group song! I love that the boys come down from the rafters for Don't Feel Like Dancing, but I hate the fact that regardless of complaints they're STILL MIMING!
Can we have the acts actually sing the group song pleeeease! It's Danyl, Lloyd and Olly that give the game away every time, they either miss a word and the sound track sings it or they over mime a note which makes it obvious.
The VT runs of last night's performances and I think it's going to be a close call tonight. Some dropped aclanger on the first song, others on the second but they all had their moment to shine. I still think that Lloyd should be the one to go tonight though... The others are a step up vocally and deserve to move on.
Eek! I love Alicia Keys and her vocal is nothing short of amazing, but either her mic level is too high or there's too much echo - it makes her sound like she's shouting in places. She looks stunning in red leather though...
As she finishes her song she tells Dermy, "I love that the final five all have their own style and they're all different (vocally)." I have to laugh as she's very giggly with Mr OLeary and she even does a little arm stroke and shoulder tickle during their chat - I can't say I blame her, I can't print what I'd do if I met him - Phwoar!!!
The judges are asked who they think will go tonight and Simon has no hesitation, "Lloyd". Cheryl and Dannii think it could be anyone but Louis agrees with Cowell. "Lloyd is a good kid but..." Nuff said.
What is going on with Rihanna's hair?!
She has a huge twist of hair running across her forehead? Vocally she's sensational, but the track doesn't float my boat I'm afraid - it almost sounds like a dirge. I much prefer Rihanna's up tempo numbers. I guess it wouldn't be so bad if she didn't keep having to flick her dodgy hair style out of her face - an extra can of Elnett required next time around honey.
Disappointing... Sack the hairdresser and sound men. NEXT!
It's time for the result.
Who goes? Click here to leave your views... Click here to follow our Live Tweets... Through to next week's semi-final are...
Stacey... Joe... Danyl... and finally Olly! YES! Lloyd is out of the competition, he's visibly shaken but smiles through. He's a lovely guy but the right man left. The remaining acts are vocally stronger and I don't think last night's tails helped. What was that all about?

November 28 Live Blog - Elton John and Take That WeekThe LIVE blog is running now... As always just press F5 to refresh as we go along and I'll be here to blog all the action and have a good old natter... It's two songs each tonight and I'm looking forward to seeing how they all perform under pressure. So who are you rooting for? ...and who do you think deserves to go? Click below to leave your comments as each act performs. Click here to follow our Live Tweets... Don't forget the I'm A Celebrity Live Blog straight after X Factor.. Justin ends up bloody and bruised! How do you fancy a sneak peek at the song list before we start? Stacey Joe Lloyd Danyl Olly So many cracking tracks tonight! Danyl kicks things of with his rendition of Relight My Fire and it's a cracker - a little too much production over vocal for my liking but he's shown he's an all-rounder... some tricky choreography. Louis was rockin' away. "Great start to the show, you proved that you're not a one trick pony as you can sing and dance. I would love it if you won!" Dannii points out that although the chorus was spot on, the verses were pitchy and the crowd boo her... Simon's not having it. "That was a complicated routine, it was foot perfect and note perfect and you've proved tonight that you can do anything you turn your hand to." Lloyd's up next with A Million Love Songs, great song choice for him - lots of teen appeal, gooey eyes and smiles. He controls the vocal well and keeps on key but loses the words half way through... phew, he caught up. Louis shakes his head as the crowd cheer. "Obviously people do like you more than I do but it was a great choice of song. You are much improved." Dannii smiles, "You always try your best, you take it and bounce back but I just wanna say... Don't complicate the melody at all." Simon agrees that it was a great choice of song, but he wants to see the fire in Lloyd's eyes. "In your second song, I want to see that you want to be in this competition!" Needless to say, Cheryl loved it and points to the crowd to highlight their reaction. Poor Olly, it's going to be a tough night for him - there's no way he should have been in the bottom two last week. Sadly I don't think this is the right song for him. He performs Love Ain't Here Anymore and although it's vocally sound with all the power-notes in the right places, there's little chance for Olly to show his personality and that's what he's all about. Louis gives Olly credit and says he shouldn't have been in the botom two last week and he deserves to be in the competition. Cheryl thought it was lovely to se Olly stripped back, "It was great to just hear you sing!" Simon agrees with me, "you sang the song well and emoted the song well but it was a poor choice as it didn't allow you that sparkle in your eye." I'm looking forward to his second song. Joe's up next and I have to ask... Am I a bad person if I say I'm not looking forward to his performance? He's singing Could It Be Magic and although I like the song, I'm convinced that Joe is too musical theatre for this competition. He's got a cracking voice, but over pronounces every word. There's nothing wrong with good diction, but we're looking for a pop star. Lloyd Webber should snap him up! Louis would like to see Joe in the final and Simon commends him for his maturity. "You did a brilliant job, you maturely worked your way through that production from the singing, to the dancing, through the dancers to the end." Dannii loved it, "you were on fire tonight!" Me, three words - stage not screen. WOW! Stacey has just performed Rule The World and she knocked my socks off, talk about a power house! It was absolutely captivating. Dannii thought it was an amazing performance and Louis loves her genuine 'real' appeal. "You don't know how good you are, you're a fantastic singer." Cheryl points out how hard it is for a female to sing a male vocal, never mind a male group and Simon agrees. Gold stars for Stacey this week. The vocal wasn't bad but it feels like the production is too big and he looks a little distracted. I don't think he ticked Simon's box with regard to the fire in his eyes, he's still a little bunny in the headlights. Louis thinks it was all too karaoke and Simon nods, "I didn't think it was better than your first song. I can understand what Cheryl was trying to do but the styling and the song just weren't you." True! Click here to leave your views... Danyl is up next and he gives Your Song everything he's got - really makes an iconic song his own. His vocals are on point but having looked forward to it, I'm still left wanting (just a smidge). I think he needs to watch his first audition over and over and channel that cheeky chappy. Cheryl disagrees with me, "it reminded me of your first audition." Louis is gushing, "that was really good. You've got the voice, the moves, the personality, you've got it all. I loved everything about it except the choir, I don't know why Simon used them." Simon smiles, "it wasn't good it was sensational! You really made that song your own." Nooooooooooooooo! Regardles of the song choice, Simon commends Olly for his effort. "You added something tonight. You gave it an extra 15/20 percent." The crowd go wild and Dermot brings on one of the dancers boxing robes that says 'MURS' across the back. The judges erupt and Olly bursts out laughing. I think Olly could be bottom two tonight thanks to poor song choices. They just didn't ring my bell. Danni hopes to see Joe in the final. I don't know what's wrong with me, I'm agreeing with Simon tonight! Stacey just performed Something About The Way You Look Tonight and Cowell hit the nail on the head. "I'll tell you why I didn't like that song. See you're not like a Leona or Alexandra, you don't have what I call that big power-ballad voice but you have something different... I think your voice is subtle and somehow cooler, that song didn't do you justice." Cheryl agrees that Stacey looked awkward in places and Louis thought the song choice was weird. So who are your bottom two? See you back here tomorrow for Alicia Keys and the results. Don't forget to bob straight over to the MSN I'm A Celebrity Blog -there's a shock during tonight's trial! November 26 Eminem Wants X Factor Judging Spot!Eminem has revealed he would like to be a judge on The X Factor and he's dead set on finding the UK's next big thing. The award winning rapper, who recently scooped yet another MTV VMA said the show needed an insight from a global superstar to put an end to the "average talent" produced... then he stepped up and volunteered himself! He told The Sun: "I am not sure I would have the time to do it full time, but I would come and be a guest judge. You need to prepare contestants for what it is really like out there, and what sort of pressure you are going to be under.” So do you think Marshall would make a good Marshal? ...and is there a reason we never see rappers on the show? November 22 Live Blog - The Result! What a night we've got ahead of us eh?
First it's the X Factor results here and then I'm straight over to the MSN I'm A Celebrity Blog to cover Katie's next trial. Be sure to come along for the ride, it's gonna be cracking fun and as always I want to hear your views on all of the action! The LIVE blog is running now... As always just press F5 to refresh as we go along and I'll be here to blog all the action and have a good old natter... Will John and Edward make it through again??? Who do you think deserves to go? I'm thinking it could be Lloyd and Jedward in the bottom two, but you never know with the good old British public.
SHOW STARTS: I wouldn't mind so much of they sang it live, but err... nope. Click here to leave your views... Wow! She looks completely different - what a makeover. Dare I say I little heavy on the eyeliner and blush, but looking good though missus! Regardless of too much slap, you can't take away the fact that her performance is sensational. Fantastic vocal, she's showing these younguns how it's done. Go on suzy! Dermot talks to the judges and I'm a little peeved that there was no mention of Louis and his rule book. Yesterday's comments got up my nose about Joe. Not that I'm a fan (as you know) but you can't complain about song choices when you're sending Jedward out to to do Ice Ice Baby for Queen week and Ricky Martin for Big Band - Bad Louis, bad! Blimey, and I thought I was being a diva tonight... Here's the biggest diva of all! Are there white lillies in all the vases, no stairs to climb and is the white dressing room filled with puppies and kittens? Right, dust off the red carpet and we're ready for Mariah! She performs I Wanna Know What Love Is with full choir and the crowd go wild. The golden butterfly confetti is a bit much, but this is Mariah after all. Personally I'd have liked to see her closer to Christmas so I could have bopped to All I Want For Christmas Is You, but what do I know. This one was a little screechy for my liking, I'm sure some of those notes only dogs could hear! THE RESULT: BYE BYE JEDWARD! Jedward perform No Matter What and Louis is clapping throughout like a seal. He shouts at the audience who are booing, but I can't blame them - they're annoyed that Olly's in this position. Are you gutted or elated to see John and Edward leave tonight? Don't forget to bob straight over to the MSN I'm A Celebrity Blog for Katie's next trial - Mwah! November 21 Live Blog - George Michael & Wham Week! The LIVE blog is running now...
As always just press F5 to refresh as we go along and I'll be here to blog all the action and have a good old natter... Will John and Edward make it through again??? Who do you think deserves to go? Click here to leave your views... How do you fancy a sneak peek at the song list before we start? It looks like after Danyl's drama earlier this week, Simon's allowed him to change songs! Stacey Joe Lloyd Danyl Olly John and Edward SHOW STARTS: He seems to be back to the old Lloyd, the vocal is good, he's in his comfort zone and is smiling! It really makes a difference. Dannii says it had a "wow" moment at the end and he's improved on last week. She encourages him to hold on to that 'wow' factor. "You need to use that more". Lloyd is chuffed to bits with Simon's comments. "That surprised me actually, that wasn't bad at all. You look better and you were working the audience, it was good." Tis' true. I thought so too... Mmm... I would have liked to hear an upbeat number from Stacey this week, she's singing I Can't Make You Love Me and don't get me wrong, it's great for showing off her vocals but I'm not sure it's the best choice to push her personality. We've had a lot of emotional numbers from her... Where's the fun? It's quite a nervous performance and there are a few crackles at the start , but as always she brings it back and raises the roof. The huge note and the ending are nothing short of amazing. Cheryl liked the song choice, "But you need to start believing you're the winner - you could do this!" Simon thinks she's the most genuinely nice person they've ever had on the show. He thought the end was fantastic but adds, "did I think it was as good as last week - no!" Oh Lord, John and Edward are singing I'm Your Man! Simon thinks Louis is giving them too much to do "why the wacky choreography?" He adds, "It wasn't really George and Andrew, more Andrew and Andrew. I have to admit you have converted a lot of people though guys, you are like an unstoppable machine at the moment!" Click here to leave your views... There's no mention of Danyl's alleged song-change drama on his VT, but to be honest I don't really care. I'm looking forward to Careless Whisper and prefer it to Praying For Time anyway. I thought it was a great rendition - What the hell is Chezza on about? Then again she's never liked Danyl. Click here to leave your views... I've been looking forward to Olly's version of Fast Love all week. I can't wait to see him do something modern and from his VT, he's pleased as punch too. Up on that podium, he looks a little exposed... Ah, the nerves disappear once he gets to do the Olly wiggle and we're off. A few flat notes in the lower register but by the second half he's into his stride. Great vocal, tons of personality - he really is Captain Charisma isn't he? I'd quite like to see Olly win this you know - he's a genuinely nice guy. Dannii is impressed. "You know how to rock the audience. That's a really hard song to sing and there were some tuning problems at the start but once you got into the high register that was it!" Louis is gushing! "I think you have the potential to be a huge pop star in the UK - nothing about you is fake, everything is real." What can I say, he could sing Itsy Bitsy Teeny Weeny and I'd still love him! Click here to leave your views... Joe has a massive song tonight, Don't Let The Sun Go Down On Me is a melodic rollercoaster. I've no doubt he'll raise the roof, but all of Cheryl's song choices for him seem to be the same. He's going to end up branded musical theatre... and I hate to say it, but I think he's a little too young for this - Dare I say a little wet? God, here we go... Louis' got his rule book out again. He's complaining that George Michael only sang part of this song so it shouldn't have been used this week - Can you say nitpicking? Remember Ice Ice Baby Louis? Click here to leave your views... November 20 Will Danyl Quit?Well if this week's shenanigans are anything to go by, he just might! According to The Mirror, Danyl Johnson stormed out during one of his vocal coaching sessions because he does not want to sing George Michael's 'Praying for Time'. Allegedly he vanished for over 5 hours before turning up at Sony BMG to talk to Simon Cowell.
The paper quotes an insider as saying: "He literally burst out the door and ran off down Battersea High Street. A few production staff chased after him to try to calm him down and make him come back but he was having none of it. They even sent a car to follow him and try to make him see sense and return but he refused. He seems very angry and upset and is demanding a different song. It'll be interesting to see if Simon backs down or makes him stick with it." Do you think Simon will back down? November 14 Live Blog - Queen NightSo how are we doing peeps?
Are you ready for some Bohemian Rhapsody? The LIVE blog is running now... As always just press F5 to refresh as we go along and I'll be here to blog all the action and have a good old natter... Will John and Edward make it through again??? Who do you think deserves to go?
How do you fancy a sneak peek at the song list before we start? Stacey Joe Lloyd Danyl Jamie Olly John and Edward Hang on... The only thing that Ice Ice Baby has to do with Queen was that Vanilla Ice ruddy sampled their beats, what happened to Louis and his rule book - The cheek! No Bohemian Rhapsody from the individual acts, but I'll put money on it being the group number tomorrow. Here we go... Jamie is up first and he's obviously star struck singing infront of Queen. The judges are worried that he'll give it too much 'Freddy' but I'm sure he'll put his own twist on it. What the? Vocally it's a little wet to start with but rocker Jamie comes out fighting for the reprise... and the crowd go wild. I'm not sure what the hell they have done to his hair, but it looks almost permed - helmet like. Dannii says, "You really know how to get the crowd going, you know just what to do. But I don't think it was the best song to show off the vocal ability you have." Louis is cutting with his comments. "I think a Freddie Mercury song has exposed you as an ordinary singer with a small voice and big hair." Ouch! Cheryl disagrees with Louis, "I liked your voice, you kicked off the show well but I have to admit I don't like your hair." Simon is gobsmacked and settles Jamie by telling him that the crowd's reaction is what counts. Jamie nods and thanks all the voters out there. -Talk about below the belt Louis, I didn't think it was that bad. Mmmm... Poor Lloyd, I'm really not convinced. I know he looks like a teen heart throb but his voice just hasn't been strong enough the last few weeks. For Crazy Little Think Called Love he's got to be quirky and cheeky. Can Lloyd pull off flirty? Dannii is impressed, "you've now arrived haven't you? That was your best performance." Louis smiles, "you look the part now and look your age but you still have to work harder next week." Simon thinks Lloyd is like a puppy taking part in the Grand National. He's a cryptic little bunny isn't he - the cute little underdog that comes from nowhere in other words... Thank you Mr Cowell. He really does like throwing this nonsense out there doesn't he? Cheryl is overjoyed, "I really feel like the penny dropped for you this week and I'm excited to see what we can do." Click here to leave your views... I'm really looking forward to Olly's performance tonight - Great song choice for him. I mean what more could you ask for, loads of personality, tons of charisma and some wiggling and shakin' to boot. Loves it. Don't Stop Me Now Olly! Dannii gives with one and takes with the other, "you are absolutely the best performer on this show but musically that song swallowed up your vocals." Cheryl can't wait to see what he comes up with next and Simon agrees with Louis for once. "You are starting to remind me of Robbie Williams because you've got an ability to always entertain. You improve every week." Joe is up next and Cheryl points out that Joe's song is a tricky one this week. Joe is nervous himself and the judges speculate if it will be too big. Bless him, he always pulls it out of the bag. Sure, the whopping choir helps but I'm singing along - are you? Great vocal, even if it is a bit musical theatre you can't fault his notes. I can see Joe landing the Joseph role before Christmas! Click here to leave your views... Dannii loved it. "You get better every week, brilliant job." Louis thought it was a great vocal but agrees with me that the choir helped. Simon pulls him up, "are you going to put that in your little rule book Louis? 'We don't have choirs on this show' - You're nitpicking." Simon agrees with Dannii that it is a great vocal but preferred his performance last week. Meanwhile Cheryl is beaming, "don't listen to him. You are technically the best singer in this competition. That song is like a rollercoaster and you sang it to a T." Simon tries to interupt but good old Chezza tells him to "be quiet." So are you ready for Jedward? Can you believe that Louis got on his high horse last week about cheating and these two are about to sing Vanilla Ice on Queen Night? Oh my lord... What can I say? Every time they break into their Vanilla Ice dance routine Simon is in bulk. I can't say it's not hilarious, it's random and silly... but entertaining nonetheless as it's simply bloody bizarre! Dannii puts her hands in the air, "where does Vanilla Ice fit in with Queen Week? Louis' rules are different from everyone elses!" Cheryl has to commend them, "You seem to put across this hard exterior, but we have to remember that you're seventeen year old lads with an opportunity and you're running with it - good for you!" Simon is grinning like a Cheshire cat. "I can't judge you in the real world anymore, I have to judge you in Jedward-land. I have to say that was your best performance. They love you." Louis thinks the boys deserve credit considering they've kept it together after the week they've had. "Even the idiots booing you, you just take it and get on with it." The crowd is chanting their name! Click here to leave your views... God I love this song, and I've got a feeling Stacey will pull this one out of the bag. As I said earlier, I just hope she's worked on gushing with emotion as she has to ooze with it for this... it has to feel genuine or it won't work. Like me Louis is gobsmacked, "that was incredible!" Cheryl is in awe, "that was absolutely stunning. You totally sang your socks off." Simon thought it was an amazing performance and also commends Queen on their phenomenal songwriting. Dannii agrees and tells Stacey that Brian May himself said, "don't change a thing" when he heard her sing - now that's a compliment. He's genuine and the vocal is passionate and powerful but I'm stil not seeing that first audition spark - that's what I loved about Danyl and that's what I'm looking for. Dannii's still longing for that cheeky chappy too, "I think that was your best performance in the live shows." Louis nods, "there's nothing wrong with being arrogant or confident if you've got the talent to back it up and you proved tonight you've got it all." Simon thought it was amazing. "That was not a karaoke performance and you sang it like you meant it - outstanding. I loved it." So that's it - Who should be bottom two tomorrow? Are Olly And Stacey An Item?Arrr.... Do we have our first X Factor couple of 2009?
I think we might! According to The Daily Mirror, Olly Murs and Stacey Solomon are somewhat of an item. After gradually becoming closer and closer over time, rumours are rife that the pair have finally sealed the deal - with just a kiss of course!
A source told The Mirror, "It's only in the last few days that they have been getting very affectionate and touchy-feely towards each other - and it looks like the first X Factor romance of the year is well under way. They're both single and have been spending more and more time together. They've had a few cuddles - and at least one kiss out of sight of the other contestants. They look really good together and seem to enjoy each other's company. They're always laughing."
All together now, Arrr.... Can they be any cuter?
It seems that sparks have flown since the pair recorded the latest X Factor charity single, they could barely take their eyes off each other on camera and at one point Olly said "I'm gonna date her one day, she's beautiful!" - Bless him.
So what do you think?
Should Olly save himself for his female fans? Or is this the sweetest thing you've read in a while? Whether they're on or off, I wish 'em both luck. Click here to leave your views... Jedward Swap Song: Are They Under Pressure?
The twins had originally chosen Radio Ga Ga for tonight's Queen tribute show (which I thought would have been rather good), but they decided a track that reflects their situation would be more fitting - Horrific as it sounds, it's also rumoured that the boys will perform a rap. Have they made a fatal error here? If you as me, the Irish boys will be feeling the pressure themselves after falling into the bottom two with Lucie Jones last Sunday. I can see them there again! Do you think they'll be lagging behind once more? PS - Don't forget to join me tonight for the LIVE blog and chat. I'll be here to give my views as the show airs, so be sure to log in and leave your opinion as each act performs. I can't wait to hear what you think of the song choices this week. November 11 Advertisers To Cash In On X Factor's Jedward!
Simon Cowell's decision to put John and Edward through may have prompted 3,000 complaints, but it looks like the deadlock decision will generate a huge amount of revenue for ITV. Jim Marshall, a senior consultant with advertising broker Starcom told The Times, “There’s no doubt that this is the television event of the year for viewers and advertisers. It has become the British version of the American Superbowl”. The broadsheet states that ITV is selling 30-second adverts to late buyers for an estimated £190,000 this month, which could rise to as high as £250,000 by Christmas. If the figures are escalating in such a way, this would result in a whopping £6 million in advertising just from the final show - Cha-ching! What do you think of Simon's decision? November 08 Live Blog - The Result! The LIVE blog is running now... As always just press F5 to refresh as we go along and I'll be here to blog all the action and have a good old natter... Will John and Edward make it through again??? Who do you think deserves to go? It's not like we're short on below par performances... Oh, and which movie song do you think they'll be performing as a group? Place your bets now... SHOW STARTS:
Arrr.. I always feel so sorry for Jamie Afro during the group performance, he just looks so awkward. I'd refuse to do it unless the song had some sort of credibility. This sucks!
The VT rolls of last nights acts and I'm already cringing at John and Edward. Who is voting for these guys? Are you?
Fingers crossed Simon's reverse psychology from last night works! Ah well, at least the Black Eyed Peas are singing live. Then again I didn't expect anything else.
I am surprised by Fergie's rather etherial performance though - not sure about the gown and floating down on a moon??? I prefer he when she's rocking out!
Good lord the Keytar is back!
I thought they'd stopped making those. ![]() Check out Will.I.Am flying through the air on a harness! The crowd explode and Simon is in bulk... classic. Leona's up next and is it just me, or are you distracted by the heavy eyeliner too?
Far too much slap. Lovely frock though... LOL! ![]() I like her new track, but preferred Bleeding Love - I'm a sucker for a good hook. Right on cue, here comes the confetti... Can this show get any more cliche? Love it. You have to give it to her, she really can blow. I think some of the notes she's singing only dogs can hear - she is a deserved winner. Mmm... She just went to say thank you and no sound came from her mic? Funny that? ![]() Did anyone see the images of Leona in the press this week? She was papped with her playlist written on her hand so she could remember it. I had to laugh, I mean how many songs has she recorded? It's not like she has the Rolling Stones back catalogue or anything - LOL! I'll post the pictures soon, if you haven't seen them say 'I'. Click here to leave your views... Through to next week are:
Joe Olly Stacey Lloyd (Shocker!) Finally it's... Jamie! YES! YES! YES! BYE BYE JEDWARD!
I can't tell you how happy I am. Now we can get back to a proper competition! I don't think there's any need for the sing off and from looking at Simon neither does he. "I know it will be difficult but we'll forget the past and judge this based on the performances tonight." Even so... Jedward give it some to Rock DJ and although the rapping is pants, the moments that they sing are actually on key. Why haven't they tried actually singing something? They run around the catwalk circling the judges and I've got visions of them flying off. I can just see the headlines... Louis saves Jedward He takes it to DEADLOCK!
Good point Minogue! Selena x November 07 Live Blog - Show 5The LIVE blog is running now...
As always just press F5 to refresh as we go along and I'll be here to blog all the action and have a good old natter... Let me know what you think of each performance and most importantly who should go! Will John and Edward make it through again??? So it's Movie Week and we've got everything from big ballads to a bit of rock and roll baby. Here's a sneak peek at the list before we start, any surprises? Personally, I'm really looking forward to Danyl's performance of Purple Rain and I think Olly's Twist & Shout will be fun to watch, he has such personality. I'm worried that Joe's song choice may be a little twee and cutesy though - fingers crossed he'll pull it out of the bag. Stacey Lucie Joe Lloyd Danyl Jamie Olly John and Edward SHOW STARTS:
Wow! The judges take to the stage to the theme from Star Wars and I have to say, Dannii looks absolutely stunning in that Princess Leia style dress. So who do we have?
Up first is Stacey Soloman and she's worried this week as she's struggling to be sexy. "I just find it difficult, I get embarrassed!" She performs Son Of A Preacher Man and she tries her best to pull it off, but her 'sexy' is still a little static. You can tell she's putting it on. It's vocally sound though and I think the outfit will have worked for all the boys out there - I never thought the wetlook leggings would ever come back.
Cheryl gushes, "It's great to see you looking so sexy and young. I thought that was your most confident performance."
Simon disagrees and says "it was like a normal talent show performance, you just don't feel anything after it. I don't think it was sexy and I think it was a lazy song choice - you're vunerable after that." Stacey replied "I had fun!"
Dannii shakes her head, "it just goes to show how out of touch Simon Cowell is. You're flirty, you're fun and you can tell by the audience reaction that it worked."
Mmmm... I think she'll go through but I don't agree that it was her best. How about you?
I love Olly don't you?
He's doing Twist & Shout from Ferris Beuller's Day Off tonight and the judges are worried that Simon is choosing songs that are too similar. Me, I'm quite looking forward to it! No worries - Olly gives it his usual 'umph' and even throws in part of Michael Jackson's Thriller routine for good measure. As always his vocal pops!
Great fun but not as good (or sexy) as last week.
Louis smiles, "Olly everybody likes you but I wasn't happy about the silly dancing. Simon picked a silly song for a great singer."
Dannii didn't get why there was an homage to Thriller in the middle (she's obviously not seen Ferris Beuller's Day Off!)
Cheryl points out, "if you haven't seen the film that was quite random."
The crowd are going wild and Simon addresses the judges, "I'm sorry you guys but the audience are speaking (they roar). It was fun and great entertainment." The crowd start chanting "Olly! Olly! Olly!"
I don't know how Louis can talk about silly songs, erm... Jedward - Duh!
Poor Lloyd... This is just totally the wrong song. I have to agree with Louis it's too low for him. He trying to perform his own version of Stand By Me but no amount of runs and warbles can help - he's relying on the teen vote tonight or it will be bottom two time.
Louis wasn't impressed. "It's much better than you were last week but I think at this stage in the competition, you're out of your depth. I don't think you're good enough - we have four better male singers."
Cheryl thinks it was his most comfortable performance, especially after taking the knock last week but Dannii's not convinced. "You lost it a little bit when you dropped off the high note, it was a nice performance."
Simon cuts to the chase, "nice like having tea with your mum! In all honesty you were out of your depth. Your voice just wasn't big enough."
I'm interested to see what Jamie does with Roy Orbison's Crying. I have to say though, how many top rock movie numbers are there. I miss Jamie rocking out - and I don't mean like last week with all the silly air punching.
It's a great straight to camera performance and Jamie's obviously chuffed with it - he flings his arms in the air at the end. It was emotional and heartfelt. He kept the tone warm and it flowed well...
Louis moans about what movie this song was in and Simon sets him straight. Louis says Jamie was incredible but he's never heard of the film so "Simon's cheating!" Simon points out that it's not about the movie, it's about the song he sung. "Jamie this is all about you and that was incredible."
Dannii agrees with me that it was heartfelt and Cheryl thinks it was a good idea to change the song, "It was your best performance yet".
Where does Louis get off ranting about cheating? Five words... Ricky Martin, Big Band, Jedward! Lucie's performing This Is Me tonight and I really don't think that the song's will relate to all. Pah! Camp Rock song - Bleugh!
It's like she's gone from Avril Lavigne to High School Musical, I much prefered last week's effort. Don't get me wrong, she floors it vocally but I'm not sold - a lot of people won't know the song and it's all a bit wet.
Louis disagrees with me. "Very good song choice, very contemporary, you look like a pop star and I think you are going to be last girl standing - you have star quality." Cheryl loved it, "I wasn't familiar with the song choice, but it could have been your song. You need to look like you are enjoying it more, sometimes you don't look like you're enjoying it as much as you should."
I felt sorry for Danyl last week, he had a really hard time. I'm hoping he's going to blow the roof off with Purple Rain - I love the song as does Alice over on Twitter. Simon hopes he'll be amazing and Danni has her fingers crossed that he'll get his mojo back. "I want to see one of those BIG Danyl performances!"
He's shaved his hair off!
I'm disappointed with the personality but amazed by the vocal. Danyl gives it his all and hits every note, but it's like he lost that sparkle in his eye from the first audition. Even when he jumps from the podium, it's not with the gusto that he had before. The falsetto section at the end is nothing short of sensational.
I hope the judges give him rave reviews, he needs the boost.
Louis gushes, "If we were judging on vocal ability, you've got it all - I think you're going to be in the final."
But what will Cheryl have to say?
She's usually cutting with Danyl. "I was very impressed with your demeanor tonight Danyl. It's like you've dropped that cocky attitude and it was a great performance." Shocker!
Simon can't compliment him enough. "Let's just go back to last week and what I said about this show. That was an amazing vocal and I think we have found an amazing singer, who last week was broken... I think you're gonna go on and have a great career, I'm very proud of you tonight Danyl."
Dannii loved the falsetto at the end but not the screaming. "You're voice is very good, but you need to really use it."
Bring on the freaks!
Yes, yes, it's time for John and Edward - Blah, blah, blah... Can't I just leave this bit blank? I'm looking for them, where are they?
Lord, they're in the bloody car! Ghosts, proton packs and boiler suits - all very predictable but still funny I have to admit. They're not even trying to sing anymore, they're just running around like five year olds. ![]() Thank God, they give a completely kack performance of Ghostbusters and hopefully that will be it. I thought it was just plain silly. Dannii is smiling but has still had enough. "It's a singing competition and you either talk or you rap."
Cheryl is a fan, "You bring fun to this show. Whether people love or hate you, it's fun to watch." ... and Simon shocks me, "I think we've established that you can't sing but this was actually a good song choice for you. This was sort of good!" Trying a bit of reverses psychology there Cowell?
What did you think of the Grimes Ghostbusters tonight?
Joe always looks so happy to be part of this show. He's performing Circle of Life and I'm just hoping he's gonna hold back the cheese and keep this one as serious as he can - this song is always better performed that way. The last thing he wants is to appear too 'musical theatre' the judges won't thank him for that.
It's a pleasant performance but I like less movement and more vocal from Joe.
Louis throws a blow below the belt. "You tick all the boxes vocally but I do think you are more musical theatre than pop star." It's a musical theatre song Louis!
Dannii can't stop clapping! "You are the best male vocalists in the competition. My only critique would be, I'd like less of a production. I love it when you just perform the song."
Simon thought it was a cracking vocal but wants to see more confidence "I want to see less of this stage school swagger. I want to see you confident, take the mic."
Cheryl is overjoyed. "You're like a little brother to me and I'm so proud to see you up there performing like that."
So that's it - Who are your bottom two?
